# Civic > Your first AI agent, live in days Civic is an AI agent integrator that designs, builds, and operates production AI agents for mid-market businesses on their existing infrastructure. Civic helps mid-market businesses deploy production AI agents on their existing tools and infrastructure. Clients work with Civic to scope, build, and validate agents that connect to CRMs, databases, and enterprise software through an MCP gateway with guardrails, audit logging, and instant access revocation. The company also offers Civic Auth, an authentication SDK for web and mobile apps, and Civic Labs, open-source agent infrastructure components. - Type: Company - Sector: Service Provider - Status: Active - Founded: 2015-01-01 - Profile: https://thegrid.id/profiles/Civic ## Products - [Civic Pass](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Civic): Civic Pass was an on-chain, non-transferable attestation enabling decentralized applications to gate access based on user verification criteria including age, location, CAPTCHA completion, identity document verification, uniqueness, and liveness checks. It deployed on Solana and Ethereum networks. The product was sunset in 2025, with CAPTCHA and identity verification discontinued on July 1, 2025, and uniqueness and liveness functionality discontinued on July 31, 2025. (Decentralised Identity, Discontinued) - [Civic ID](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Civic): Civic ID was a digital identity application enabling users to verify their identities using biometric checks and government-issued documents, then share verified credentials selectively across services. The product is no longer actively developed or featured as Civic has repositioned its focus to AI agent infrastructure. (Decentralised Identity, Inactive/Support Ended) - [Civic Hub](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Civic): Civic Hub is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) gateway that gives AI agents governed access to business tool integrations including CRMs, databases, messaging platforms, file storage, and analytics services. Agents connect via a single HTTP endpoint. The platform includes 14 built-in guardrails for blocking or redacting sensitive content in tool calls and responses, a complete audit log recording every tool call with parameters, responses, timestamps, and agent identity, secret management that stores OAuth tokens and API keys so agents never handle raw credentials, and instant access revocation at the tool, server, or entire toolkit level. Organizations manage configuration and monitor agent activity through Civic Chat, a control plane at app.civic.com with three built-in agents for configuration, audit queries, and revocation. (MCP, Live, Main Product) - [Civic Auth](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Civic): Civic Auth is an authentication SDK for web and mobile applications, currently in open beta. It supports sign-in via email, Google, and passkeys, with optional automatic Web3 wallet provisioning for users on Solana and EVM-compatible chains. The SDK is available for React, Next.js, Vanilla JavaScript, Node.js, Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django), and React Native. When deployed alongside Civic Hub, authenticated users receive scoped permission tokens for agent access, with authentication events recorded automatically in the audit log. Developers obtain a Client ID at auth.civic.com to configure and manage their integration. Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation. Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license. See [Web Services Terms](https://about.thegrid.id/legal/web-services-terms) for commercial use that is not covered by the open data service.
