# Metaplex > Powering the digital asset economy on Solana. Metaplex helps developers create digital assets by providing comprehensive infrastructure for minting, managing, and distributing tokens and NFTs on Solana and SVM. Metaplex powers one of the largest blockchain developer ecosystems in the world, providing the onchain infrastructure needed to build decentralized applications on Solana and the Solana Virtual Machine (“SVM”). As the leading digital asset protocol for tokens, NFTs, gaming assets and more, Metaplex has facilitated the creation of over 800 million assets and powered $8.3 billion in transaction value across 9 million unique signers. - Type: Company - Sector: Developer Tooling - Status: Active - Profile: https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex ## Products - [Metaplex Bubblegum](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Metaplex Bubblegum cuts NFT minting costs by using state compression on Solana. It stores NFT data in a Merkle tree, enabling bulk creation and updates with low overhead. Developers can mint thousands of compressed NFTs, users can trade them quickly, and systems can verify them efficiently. Its compact on-chain footprint paired with full NFT functionality offers a cost-effective edge. (NFT Issuance Platform, Inactive/Support Ended) - [Aura Network](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Aura Network solves data delays in Solana apps by running a decentralized indexing system. It distributes asset data across nodes, supporting fast queries and consistent state tracking. Developers can fetch NFT details instantly, users can validate assets reliably, and apps can scale without bottlenecks. Its multi-node architecture ensures high availability and precision for blockchain data. (OnChain Data API, Live) - [Metaplex Core](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Metaplex Core helps creators make and sell digital items like NFTs affordably on Solana. It provides simple tools to build collections, set prices, and manage assets without high costs. Artists can mint unique designs, traders can buy and sell easily, and developers can integrate it into apps. Its low fees and fast transactions make it stand out for anyone wanting to work with digital assets. (Developer Tooling, Live) - [Metaplex Token Metadata](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Metaplex Token Metadata is a standardized metadata attachment for fungible and non-fungible tokens on Solana, enabling interoperability across the ecosystem. The system provides on-chain data structures while transitioning to immutable status with independent security audit oversight. (Developer Tooling, Live) - [Metaplex Bubblegum v2](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Metaplex Bubblegum v2 is an enhanced compressed NFT architecture with improved concurrent Merkle tree structures, enabling optimized digital asset creation with advanced indexing capabilities. The system provides upgraded compression algorithms and enhanced verification mechanisms for large-scale NFT deployment across enterprise applications. It is designed for enterprise applications, enabling mass creation of digital assets across RWAs, AI, gaming, and other use cases (Developer Tooling, Live, Main Product) - [Metaplex Candy Machine](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Metaplex Candy Machine is a NFT minting and distribution infrastructure with configurable guards and eligibility rules. The system provides scalable minting mechanics for large-scale digital asset launches and collection management. (Launch Pad, Live) - [Genesis SDK](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): Genesis SDK is a software development kit providing audited smart contracts and tools for building token launch platforms on Solana. The SDK offers launch pool, auction, and presale mechanisms with integrated compliance tools, real-time token data access, and DEX liquidity migration capabilities. Enables developers to deploy standardized fair-launch infrastructure without custom contract development. (Developer Tooling, Live) ## Assets - [Metaplex Token (MPLX)](https://thegrid.id/profiles/Metaplex): MPLX is the utility and governance token of the Metaplex Protocol on Solana. It is used to vote on protocol upgrades and treasury management through the Metaplex DAO, and as payment to access and query the Aura data network. Half of all protocol fees generated from digital asset creation are used monthly to buy back MPLX for the DAO treasury, creating a direct link between network usage and token demand.
