# Portal Bridge

Portal Bridge is a cross-chain token bridge built on Wormhole infrastructure. It lets users transfer tokens and NFTs between multiple blockchains using lock-and-mint mechanisms validated by a guardian network.

Portal Bridge is a cross-chain bridging application that lets users move tokens and NFTs between multiple blockchain networks. It is built on Wormhole messaging infrastructure and serves users who hold assets on one chain but need to use them on another, such as decentralized finance participants and NFT holders. The interface supports a wide range of supported assets, including stablecoins and other tokens, across multiple blockchains.

The bridge addresses the fragmentation created by isolated blockchain ecosystems by locking or burning tokens on a source chain and minting or releasing corresponding representations on a destination chain. Transfers are verified through a network of independent validators that attest to cross-chain messages before assets become available on the receiving chain. The application has undergone interface upgrades that introduced faster transfer routes and native-to-native swaps, reducing the need for wrapped assets in some transfer paths.

Portal Bridge groups its offering around a general token bridge, a dedicated stablecoin bridging flow, and a public transaction explorer for tracking cross-chain messages. It is used by individual holders moving assets between networks as well as applications that rely on cross-chain liquidity. A legacy version of the interface is being phased out as functionality consolidates into the current application.

This data is provided under two licensing models.

Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation.

Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license. See [Web Services Terms](https://about.thegrid.id/legal/web-services-terms) for commercial use that is not covered by the open data service.
