# Canton Network > Unifying traditional and crypto markets on-chain Canton Network helps institutions transfer assets privately by providing the first privacy-enabled public blockchain for financial markets. Canton Network helps financial institutions tokenize assets and move capital efficiently through privacy-enabled blockchain infrastructure. With it, you can transfer tokenized assets confidentially, connect siloed financial systems, and access 24/7 on-chain capital markets. Canton Network bridges traditional and crypto finance while maintaining institutional privacy controls. - Type: Network - Sector: Blockchain Platforms - Status: Active - Founded: 2023-01-01 - Profile: https://thegrid.id/profiles/canton_network ## Products - [Canton Network](https://thegrid.id/profiles/canton_network): Canton Network implements privacy-enabled blockchain infrastructure through Daml smart contracts and sync domains, enabling institutional asset tokenization and confidential transactions. The system provides sub-transaction privacy while maintaining real-time synchronization across participant nodes through the Global Synchronizer protocol. (L1, Live, Main Product) ## Assets - [Canton Coin](https://thegrid.id/profiles/canton_network): Canton Coin is the native utility token of Canton Network's Global Synchronizer. It is used to pay transaction fees and reward validators, application providers, and infrastructure operators for contributing to the network. The token employs a burn-mint equilibrium mechanism where fees are burned when users transact and new coins are minted as rewards for network participants, stabilizing the token's value around the utility it provides to the ecosystem. Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation. Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license.
