Chainrails is a payment infrastructure protocol that lets developers accept value from multiple blockchains and fiat sources through a single integration. Payers can transact using any supported chain, token, or fiat method, while businesses receive funds in their preferred chain, token, or bank account. It targets application builders who need multi-chain payment acceptance without managing bridges, liquidity, or separate integrations for each network. The protocol addresses the complexity of multi-chain commerce by abstracting bridging, swapping, ramping, and settlement into a single layer. Developers integrate through an SDK, API, or smart contract interface, and incoming payments are automatically routed, converted, and settled to the destination the business specifies. This removes the need to maintain custody infrastructure or manually manage liquidity across networks and currencies. Core offerings include deposit and withdrawal processing, shareable payment links, and a dashboard for monitoring transaction volume and performance. A liquidity orchestration feature for routing value between fiat and stablecoin rails is in development. Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation. Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license.
