It finances and endorses projects that advance the use of tokenized assets in onchain financial protocols, manages a treasury for ecosystem growth, and deploys protocol smart contracts. Its work serves developers, token holders, and participants across the wider Ondo ecosystem. The foundation operates with no beneficial owners, and its mandate spans ecosystem funding, education, treasury management, intellectual property, and engagement with businesses and regulators. It assisted the launch of Ondo DAO, the token-governed body that deployed and governs the Flux Finance lending protocol. Decisions over that protocol rest with governance token holders rather than with the foundation. Its own programs include Ondo Points, a rewards portal where participants earn points through ecosystem campaigns and redeem them for rewards. Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation. Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license.
