# Velodrome Finance > Swap, deposit, take the lead Velodrome Finance is a decentralized exchange and liquidity marketplace on the Optimism Superchain. It lets users swap tokens at low fees, deposit tokens to earn rewards, and lock VELO to vote on emissions. Velodrome Finance is a decentralized exchange and liquidity marketplace on the Optimism Superchain. Users swap tokens at low fees, liquidity providers deposit tokens into pools to earn VELO emissions, and token holders lock VELO to vote on where emissions go. It serves traders, liquidity providers, and protocols that want deep liquidity for their tokens. Each weekly epoch, liquidity providers who stake their deposits receive emissions in proportion to the votes their pools collect. Voters who lock VELO receive the previous epoch's trading fees and any incentives that protocols add to the pools they back. Pools include concentrated liquidity positions, and Superswaps lets users swap into tokens on other Superchain networks from one app. Velodrome offers swapping, liquidity provision, locking, voting, and incentive tools for protocols. It is used by traders, liquidity providers, token holders, and protocols across the Superchain. It is merging with Aerodrome into a single protocol, and Velodrome positions upgrade to the merged protocol. - Type: Project - Sector: Finance - Status: Active - Founded: 2022-06-01 - Profile: https://thegrid.id/profiles/velodrome_finance ## Products - [Velodrome](https://thegrid.id/profiles/velodrome_finance): Velodrome is a decentralized exchange with automated market-maker pools for token swaps, including concentrated liquidity pools. Liquidity providers stake deposits to earn VELO emissions, and veVELO voters direct emissions each epoch and earn trading fees and protocol incentives. Superswaps lets users swap across Superchain networks without bridges. The protocol is merging with Aerodrome into a single protocol. (Decentralised Exchange, Live, Main Product) ## Assets - [Velodrome (VELO)](https://thegrid.id/profiles/velodrome_finance): VELO is the utility token of Velodrome Finance on Optimism. It is used to reward liquidity providers through weekly emissions and can be locked to receive veVELO governance NFTs that grant voting rights on emission allocations to liquidity pools. The lock period can be up to four years, with longer durations granting higher voting power and rewards, combining Curve's vote-escrow mechanism with Olympus DAO's game theory to incentivize long-term token holding and liquidity provision.
