# Xandeum Labs > Exabytes for Solana Programs Xandeum extends Solana with a smart contract-native, decentralized storage layer, enabling dApps to store and access large datasets directly on-chain. Xandeum helps Solana developers build data-intensive applications by providing a decentralized storage layer that integrates directly with smart contracts. With it, developers can store large datasets on-chain, perform random-access reads and writes against contract-native storage, and scale storage capacity to exabyte levels without relying on external storage services such as Filecoin or Arweave. - Type: Protocol - Sector: Blockchain Platforms - Status: Active - Founded: 2023-07-01 - Profile: https://thegrid.id/profiles/xandeum_labs ## Products - [Xandeum Storage Layer](https://thegrid.id/profiles/xandeum_labs): Xandeum Storage Layer implements decentralized file storage through pNodes and validator supervision, enabling Solana programs to access exabytes of data. The system uses erasure coding and cryptographic proofs while maintaining smart contract integration through Peek, Poke, and Prove primitives. (Decentralized File Storage, In Development) - [Xandeum Liquid Staking](https://thegrid.id/profiles/xandeum_labs): Xandeum Liquid Staking implements storage-enabled staking through multi-validator delegation, enabling SOL holders to earn both staking rewards and storage fees. The system distributes rewards to stakers while delegating only to Xandeum-enabled validators participating in the storage network. (Liquid Staking, Live) ## Assets - [Xandeum (XAND)](https://thegrid.id/profiles/xandeum_labs): XAND is the governance token for the Xandeum network, enabling DAO voting over network parameters and distributing staking rewards to validators and pNode operators. (Governance) - [Xandeum SOL (xandSOL)](https://thegrid.id/profiles/xandeum_labs): xandSOL is the liquid staking token for Xandeum's SOL staking pool, representing staked SOL delegated across Xandeum-enabled validators. The token accrues both standard staking yields and additional storage fee rewards distributed per epoch. Model 1 - open data. The open data core is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) — a copyleft/share-alike license allowing free use, modification, and sharing for any purpose. Attribution is required: include "Powered by The Grid" linking to https://thegrid.id wherever the data is used. Derivative databases must be shared under ODbL terms. Trademarks, logos, and brand names (marked "Special TPIP") are not covered by the ODbL. For ML/AI use: training datasets that substantially extract ODbL data are Derivative Databases and must be shared under ODbL if publicly used; models must be attributed in documentation. Model 2 - commercial licenses. The Grid Data Service (TGDS) is also available as a commercial license. See [Web Services Terms](https://about.thegrid.id/legal/web-services-terms) for commercial use that is not covered by the open data service.
