Acceptable Use Policy - The Grid Data Service

This Acceptable Use Policy is effective from 28 November 2024.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes acceptable and unacceptable conduct for use by “you”, a customer or user of The Grid Data Service (or "TGDS"), and The Grid. If you are a customer of The Grid, then “The Grid” or “we” means Enter The Grid B.V..

This policy may change as The Grid grows and evolves, so please check back regularly for updates and changes. Terms that are capitalised but not defined in this Acceptable Use Policy have the same meaning as in the applicable agreement between you and The Grid.

What happens if there is a violation of this policy? If we believe a violation of the policy is deliberate, repeated, or presents a credible risk of harm to other users, our customers, The Grid Data Service or any third parties, we may suspend your access.

In connection with use of The Grid Data Service, you must not use this service:

  1. for spam or other unsolicited commercial email, or send information that is fraudulent or is not transparent as to its source, such as spoofing or phishing;

  2. for abusive messages, defamatory or libellous statements, hate speech, or messages that incite or threaten violence;

  3. to access TGDS in order to build a similar or competitive product or service, or to copy any features, functionality, design, or ideas of TGDS;

  4. in any way that could harm minors, that interacts with or targets people under the age of thirteen, or knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of thirteen;

  5. in violation of any applicable law or regulation;

  6. to access any unauthorised part of TGDS;

  7. to access any part of TGDS through technologies other than those provided or authorised by The Grid (which prohibits using technologies such as automated or non-automated data scraping via the TGDS API);

  8. to access TGDS in violation of any export embargo, prohibition, or restriction.

  9. to interfere with the normal functioning, integrity, or operation of TGDS;

  10. circumvent any access or authentication restrictions, or otherwise attempt to compromise the security of TGDS;

  11. probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any part of TGDS without proper authorisation;

  12. access, or attempt to access, another user’s account(s);

  13. authorise, permit, enable, induce, or encourage any third party to do any of the above.

Without limiting any other remedies available to it, The Grid may in its sole discretion suspend access to TGDS for violations of this Acceptable Use Policy, to prevent harm to other parties, or to preserve the security, availability, or integrity of TGDS.
